About Me
Hi, I’m Hillary Froning!
I am a Christian, wife, and mom of three miracle babies. I am also a Southern belle who can sometimes be a little too honest. My mission in life is to speak truth, share my story of adoption and motherhood, and inspire others to follow God’s calling.
My husband, Rich Froning, and I love the Lord and look to him for guidance as we navigate this crazy thing called life. We leaned on the Lord everyday on our journey to adopting our three beautiful children. I started this blog and wrote my book Blessed by Adoption to share our story and help other families who may have also had adoption placed on their hearts.
Rich and I met my sophomore year of college at Tennessee Tech University. We went to high school together and actually had lots of mutual friends, but our paths never crossed until a summer in college. It’s really funny, actually. We didn't meet at a CrossFit gym or a summer get-together. We met while getting our hair done. That's right… a salon! Since I managed a local tanning salon and Rich worked at the fire department, we both had busy schedules and had early 8 a.m. hair appointments one Saturday. I went to that appointment like any other girl does on a Saturday morning in the summer: shorts, t-shirt, no makeup. Yep, I met my husband looking like a hot mess!
I knew who Rich was when I saw him that morning, but we’d never had an actual conversation before. But we hit it off that day and ended up spending the whole summer together learning more about each other. We had so much fun falling in love during our dating days. We dated for a little over two years before getting married on June 18, 2011, outside at my uncle's farm—the same place my parents got married. Now, here we are, almost 10 years later, and I love him and more every day! Rich is not only a man of God but an amazing husband, dad, and my best friend!
We struggled for years with infertility and it was one of the most heartbreaking experiences of my life. All I had ever wanted in life was to become a mom. Thankfully, God placed adoption on our hearts and today we have three children who we love more than anything: Lakelyn, Trice, and Violet. Today, when we’re not chasing after our kids, Rich and I are managing CrossFit Mayhem, the gym we own, and Froning Farms (where we raise bison) in our hometown of Cookeville, TN. I also share a boutique, 31TwentyFive, with my sister.
As you read my blog, I hope my family’s story inspires you. I hope it provides comfort and hope to anyone who is considering adoption or who is already headed down that path. My mission is to shine a light on motherhood and how we all have different journeys to get there. I felt so alone at times on my infertility and adoption journey, but I want YOU to know that you are never alone. There are moms and dads all around the world just like you who have lived through this. We know what it’s like. We are here for you. We are thinking and praying for you.
